I've been to the movie-park, Bottrop-Kirchhellen earlier this week with my kids and guess what : They had Fischerkoesen's animationtable/camera there along with the cover of this 1956's "Der Spiegel":

Enchanted

Yes, I was lucky enough to be invited to the Enchanted -Dinner in connection to the european press-tour in Munich earlier this week ( Thx to Christine Weber, Petra Strobl, Kerstin Daniel and Thomas Menne from Buena Vista Germany , as well as my old pal Johannes Wolters for inviting me). Lovely Amy Adams was there, as well as James Marsden, Alan Menken, Chris Chase and Kevin Lima , it was great to see Kevin again,- I hadn't seen him since Tarzan almost 10 years ago- and when Greg Manwaring also popped by later that evening, it became a very funny and long get-together.Thanks everybody and it was great to see and meet you !

Loriot

By some strange and fortunate coincidence, I was sitting next to Claudia Lehmann from Maz&Movies in Berlin last week, when we both were guest at the "Enchanted"-dinner in Munich. We started to smalltalk and she told me , that she is busy preparing the release of a DVD containing the ENTIRE work of Loriot. ENTIRE, mind you !!! That means, that it will not only contain the alltowellknown sketches but also his early work, the CARTOON-TV-series for example, in which he introduced other peoples work, several commercials and the Wum & Wendelin-sketches etc,etc,etc.
I was so hoping for this to be available some day, but I had little to no hope, that it would finally happen. Well, I was wrong. Here it is:

Enchanted

So, I got a chance to see "Enchanted" at a press-screening yesterday, and I gotta tell you : I really liked it.
And so did the usually very cynical and "clever" presscrowd. Everybody seemed to be delighted to see a real, warm christmasmovie again. It's a good thing to see, that the warmth and humor of the characters comes from the fact, that they stay in character and then grow and learn, instead of acting against their characterisation as in, let's say : Pinocchio wearing woman's underwear, for example. And finally in the ( welldesigned ) credits they got the spelling of my name right, what more can you ask for ?

Nicht Verpassen !

Probably one of the most memorable TV moments for years to come. The only problem: Now he's created a martyr for all those rightwing guys, don't know if that was so clever. Why throw her out ? He should have just moved on to Miss Berger.

Enchanted

Since some first screencaps from Enchanted's Troll appeared on Jim Hill's website (Link above), I thought I might as well show you some sketches for that character. I will see the movie for the first time in a press-screening later this week, and I'm kinda nervous....






































Oh yes, and there's a new featurette out as well, well new to me anyway.

Three very different movies of this upcoming autumn. I kind of left my mark on all of them, more or less, sometimes.

ENCHANTED will be called "Verwünscht" in German. Is it just me, or shouldn't this be "verwunschen"???
