Harald Juhnke

Years and years ago, must have been in '94 or so, I was asked to do some designs for "Emil and the detectives" for a Munich producer.
They wanted the story to take place in then-contemporary-Berlin, which is a shame since the 30's Berlin of the book is one of the mainactors of the story. Anyway, I proposed THE Berlin-actor , Harald Juhnke, for the part of Grundeis, a pickpocket and the villain of the story.
A strange, fascinating and amazing actor, he was the German voice of Honest John in the Disney-version of Pinocchio, as well as Marlon Brando in "On the waterfront", what a stretch.
Needless to say it never happend.

Really nice design. Shame it never happened.
