Saw it last night. Won't spoil anything- but I was quite disappointed. Starts really sweet and heart warming then turns into what feels like 817 hours of boredom. Visually stunning though.
Children will love it to be sure-if they have the patience to sit through it. It's just too damn long. Other than that- great entertainment.
I haven't read the books(shame on me) so what I saw as very weak story points in the film sometimes I have now been told are literally the same in the book... maybe it's like Harry Potter- they should've left it at the written medium.
If I was a Narnian I just wouldn't be very impressed with a king who buggers off for ages leaving the kingdom in ruins- only to come back and not do anything but look kingly and animated, leaving the fate of the world in the hands of 4 spoiled posh little kids!
The beginning brought tears to my eyes though- and not because of the wonky editing- it honestly had gorgeous moments. Hope you'll enjoy it- you're kids surely will- and then let us all know what you think!

ReplyDeleteThere are some amazing moments and ASTONISHING character design in the creatures. So nice. Movie is very kidsy though, but entertaining.
